In 1981, Pipp Mobile Storage Systems, Inc. was established as a family-owned company providing a variety of mobile storage solutions.
In 2005, the ownership of Pipp Mobile Storage Systems, Inc. was transferred to a private equity firm and Craig Umans was named as the President and CEO.
In 2007, Pipp acquired Denstor Mobile Storage Systems, Inc., increasing market penetration in the office and filing, healthcare, hospitality and food service industries.
Denstor Mobile Storage Systems was founded in 1971 with a unique carriage and track design for handling office and industrial shelving products. Manufacturing from their facility in Farmington Hills, MI, Denstor introduced the original V-Groove “compliant” aluminum track and carriage system in 1971. The first systems were designed to work as manual lateral Bi-Stor*/Tri-Stor* applications and single-aisle compacting storage systems. Each carriage was specifically manufactured to fit the specific footprint of the shelving or storage medium used.
In 1975 Denstor introduced Series 300 Mechanical Assist for compacting storage applications up to 10’. Product advances between 1975-1986 included new manual and mechanical assist designs for retail, archive, industrial and media storage applications. During this period, several unique track and carriage designs were created for handling specific high-density applications under the Denstor product line. In 1987, new product designs and systems were introduced for the Restaurant and Health-Care storage environments requiring NSF certification and a new Modular Deck Mobile System for Office Filing.
Denstor provides product-specific shelving and accessories to accompany their mobile applications that are distributed through Office, Material Handling, Health Care and Retail business channels. The company business expanded through these channels and additional OEM marketing relationships until Denstor was acquired by Pipp Mobile Storage Systems, Inc. of Walker, MI in 2007.
Denstor, a division of Pipp Mobile Storage Systems, Inc., continues to market their original products along with the increased depth and capacity of Pipp’s technologies. Pipp and Denstor provide a diversified series of mobile storage and shelving solutions that meet and exceed storage requirements in all types of business environments.
Pipp acquired International Retail Services Group (IRSG), the industry leader in hanger management systems and inventory transfer systems, further strengthening our position as the leader in the storage products industry.
Established in 1968, IRSG quickly became the market leader after introducing its highly innovative hanger-management product, known as Hanger Tight, which significantly improved the efficiency by which retailers could cycle hangers through their stores. IRSG soon expanded its offering to include a wide range of transfer racks, tables, and carts to improve the ease and productivity of transferring inventory from the stock room to the sales floor.
Today, IRSG offers more than 200 different products and is known for its solution-oriented approach to satisfying customer needs. IRSG’s product line includes hanger-management systems, wire storage shelves, garment fitting room racks, storage carts, and metal work tables for on-floor merchandising tasks like folding, recovery, pricing and signing.
IRSG was acquired by Pipp Mobile Storage Systems, Inc., the nation’s leading supplier of mobile storage solutions. The acquisition of IRSG expands Pipp’s already extensive line of space-saving storage solutions sold to retail, hospitality, healthcare, material handling, foodservice, and office and filing customers nationwide and allows both Pipp and IRSG to offer their current customers hundreds of new products.
In 2017, Pipp Horticulture was established to service the increasing needs of the Indoor Cultivation Market. We utilized our core product offerings with modifications to meet the demands of the indoor grow conditions.

2020 | Vertical Air Solutions
Pipp Horticulture acquires Vertical Air Solutions, a leading provider of In-Rack Airflow Systems for the global indoor vertical farming industry. The VAS patented airflow system provides canopies with uniform air circulation, while homogenizing the atmosphere in a multi-layered rolling rack platform.
2021 | GGS Structures
Pipp Horticulture acquires the GGS Group of Companies. For over 40 years, GGS has been the leading manufacturer of top-quality greenhouses and turnkey greenhouse growing solutions in North America. GGS is comprised of Tasco Dome, JGS Limited, and Niagrow Systems.
